It's pretty slick. Wish they'd have went with i350's though and added IPMI. I also assume they mean max 16GB of ram in the specs, unless they really screwed up the design.
Looks like it'd be excellent for pfsense and the plethora of serial ports would make excellent lab systems (seperate system). -
pretty sure it costs butt loads
but the second like i posted
"This Fanless PC is designed for small-to-medium business (SMB) and enterprise security and communications appliances (including VPN/firewall and unified threat management), transaction terminals, interactive clients, print and imaging applications, wireless and WiMax access applications, SMB and home network attached storage, converged IP PBX solutions, converged access platforms, IP media servers, and VoIP gateways. OEM options available based on request for project."
i was like ok but then i noticed the soc
an Intel EP80579 (Tolapai) SoC maybe it has some accelerators that speed up certain network tasks but its a bit old released in Q4 2008 -
@w00t!:
pretty sure it costs butt loads
Yep, anything that is designed for an industrial application like that is usually at least 3 times the price of an equivalent rack mounted box.
Nice though. :)Steve
