Distinguish user on LightSquid Report
-
Hi,
Im having a trouble on how to distinguish the users on the lightsquid report.
Is there any possible way on how to set this up? I found from the internet that it is
possible but i cant seem to find on how should this apply on PFSense.http://lightsquid.sourceforge.net/How%20It%20Work.html (Here's what i got)
I used static IP configuration.
I enabled the transparent proxy and it logs all the sites that have visited.
I just want to know how can i distinguish the IP's attached on the picture (RealName & Group)I'm new to this and i just don't know how should i apply this on PFSense.
Kindly help me to solve this or at least provide an example on how to do it.
Your help would be much more appreciated. Thanks

If you use static IPs on PCs, enter them also as DNS host overrides with the user's name, and then make sure that lightsquid is set to resolve the hosts using DNS, it should then show you the hostname in the report, which if you entered things correctly, would be the user's name.

entered things correctly, would be the user's name.
I'm not that familiar with BSD/Linux codes :'(.
I've seen/downloaded samples but with not the use of PFSense i also need a detailed one.
I'm still working with my examples yet i don't know how to apply it and
that i might failed and crash the network.I also found that you can edit this from PFSense the question is how?
/usr/local/etc/lightsquid/realname.cfgI used GUI on my laptop and the server/router is the PFSense.
Would you mind setting an example i would really appreciate your help.
And sorry for my english.Thanks
