Anymore steps needed to allow OpenVPN?
-
Hi Guys,
pfSense as a firewall is working great, but i want to set it up as a VPN server.
I followed this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdAHVSTl1ys
Which basically, shows me how to create the CA's, users and configure the server using the wizard. But when i install the exported client, all it states is 'connecting'
are there anymore steps i need to make before attempting to connect? Not sure what information you might need, so just let me know.
Thanks,

Didn't watch the video but in general you need to do that:
-
Create CA and Certificates for the server and the user
-
Configure the server, interface, port and the CA and server certificate
-
configure your WAN firewall rule to allow connection to the server and/or setup PortForwarding rules if your OpenVPN is running on LAN interface and not directly on WAN
-
When exporting the the setup + config with the OpenVPN client export utility make sure you configure the correct IP address or hostname.

Thanks Nachtfalke, I'll give that a go now!
