      https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Tuning_and_Troubleshooting_Network_Cards

it says "In /boot/loader.conf.local - Add the following (or create the file if it does not exist"

im not even close to a Linux guy. how do I access said file? how do I make it if its not there?

Use "WinSCP" (btw the file is there ;)  )

Or, you can go to "Diagnostics: Edit file"

            Damn!  :P  You are Laaazy, dude….  :P

Create the file, use: "touch /boot/loader.conf.local" From the "Diagnostics --> Command prompt --> Execute Shell Command"

that's how I found the walkthrough.

most people talk "as if" others know what to type to run "blah blah command"

even that walkthrough wasn't really a walkthough. it assumed a certain amount of pre-requisites that I don't have.
