Compulab fit-PC4 announced

I think this will be the best option to replace my ALIX once the Intel NIC's are supported. The lower-end version is still much faster than an ALIX and has a TDP of 8 watts.
I bought a Fit-PC2 years ago and it's still running XP strong, albeit a bit slow. This would be perfect for pfSense.
Passmark scores based on their CPU:
ALIX: Approx 150'ish
Fit-PC4 Value: 547
Fit-PC4 Pro: 2000 -
I've written to them to inquire as to volume pricing for the pfSense Store.

If they get back to you, see if they'll make a Multi-LAN variant and drop the 802.11 & BT.

They're talking now. I was already 'there'. There are 'issues' with the 4-port add-on (FACE). They have a two port, but it has bypass,
which is just unnecessary expense. They have a single-port, but it's Realtek. -
Yeah, I'd pass on the Realtek and the Bypass NICs as well.

Can you please explain what the issues are ? Is is true for all 4-port add-on from fit-pc (in particular, is it true for the 4-port add-on for the intense pc or intense pc 2) ?

Dual-core "value barebone" model seems to be in stock now, if ordering directly from Compulab.
The wireless module on this one is specified as 2.4GHz AzureWave AW-NB057H. This seems to be a USB-based solution, which, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't support hostap, assuming it works with urtwn. (BTW, is there any USB-based chipset with hostap support at all?) Hence, the included wireless seems rather useless for pfSense. Judging from the block diagram however, it might be replaceable with a PCIe-based card.

Some of the Ralink USB chipsets support hostap, run(4), rum(4) and ural(4).
