I'm pretty sure snortsam is not supported on pfSense, and the package has not been updated for quite a long time now.

I'm pretty sure snortsam is not supported on pfSense, and the package has not been updated for quite a long time now.  So far as I know, the original creator/maintainer no longer visits the forums here.
