Can't access modem behind pfSense
-
Hello everyone,
My issue is, that I do not reach my modem through pfSense.
I followed this manual -> https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Accessing_modem_from_inside_firewallA ping from pfSense to the modem works.
There are no log entries about blocking by firewall. As attachment some screenshots of my configuration. I hope you have an idea whats the solution.

Try using dhcp in the modemaccess interface settings…should work
power down and restart all...pfsense...modem..any switches in between -
The Modem is in bridge mode … so no DHCP is running on it and its not sending an DHCP request.
I guess my NAT configuration ist the problem.Under Firewall: NAT: Outbound it is set to Automatic outbound NAT rule generation
If I switch to Manual Outbound NAT rule generation I can access the modem, but Internet stops working.I also need to check Enable automatic outbound NAT for Reflection under System: Advanced: Firewall and NAT, so I can access my webservices from inside my LAN.

I found the solution.
Reading the HowTo (https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Accessing_modem_from_inside_firewall) correctly was the problem.
The phrase Add an Outbound NAT rule as described above, includes to set Manual Outbound NAT under
Firewall: NAT: Outbound
