      Hi all,

I have follow the instruction guide in Pfsense website, I use CDburnerXP to burn the Pfsense ISO to CD, but i am unable to boot from the CD to proceed installation. I have enable BIOS to boot from my CD ROm. I am using the PFsense Live CD 32 bit. Am i downloaded a proper platform? My computer is running xp 32 bit. Haven't try for 64 bit of Pfsense version. Just want to know the resolution for this before trying. Thansk

Did you un-gzip the file before you burned it? It's a common mistake.

yes, i extract it with rar to desktop, and i am sure it's an ISO image before burning to CD.

however i have change to USB boot right nw(installing wth USB is more convenient than cd)

Boot up seems.fine but i have stuck at the line "Trying to boot from root /dev"

          any idea on this?

If you're booting from a USB stick you should use the memstick image and choose USB boot at the boot menu.

Update: Now I switched to USB boot, I am able to boot from USB, but I hang at the line link state is set to Up, it then just hang over there. I have waited 30 mins still give me the same line. Trying to boot from 'default" still no luck.

So you booted from a memory stick? What exact image did you write to it?
                What hardware are you using?
