[Help] pfSense Set-up
-
Hi Sir, Good day! I am currently using pfsense 2.1.5 version with 2 NIC installed. I have a Cisco Router 1841, a Juniper firewall and a Cyberoam (Bridgemode). My plan is to set up the pfsense as Caching purposes using Squid or Lusca(haven't tried it yet). Please help me to build my network with proper configuration and set up. My current gateway is the Juniper Firewall. Please see photo attached for your reference. Any recommendation will be much appreciated.

Your image is so small that I can't make out any of the elements. You just want pfSense running as a web caching server?

Don't use Luscacache! There is no package for it in pfSense. There are some write ups out there on the web that involve changing the package repo to point at some domain that serves, among other things, various malware. It's not been updated for ages. There's no good reason to use it at all.
Use Squid if you are going this route. There may be easier ways of setting up a web proxy than using pfSense though to be honest. As much as it pains me to say it if you're not using it for routing or firewalling you might want to check out some alternatives.Steve

I am planning to use squid now. I'm not really sure if i would follow some tutorials at the other sites. can you send me what best configuration in my squid proxy ? recommend what set up on my network with less issues. i am maintaining almost 900+ users in our company. I did basic config on my pfsense and it works but caching isn't work perfectly as expected.

What are you trying to cache? Which Squid version are you using?
What isn't working? What did you expect?
This question would be better asked in the 'packages' subforum.
