How to redirect url like google.com to mail.google.com
-
Good Day Sir/Ma'am,
I need help please. I am running a proxy server with dansguardian+squid3. We have this policy that anyone are not allowed to use google. I already blocked search engine esp. google and yahoo. But my users can always login to gmail before I have no problem with it. But it seems google change their redirecting page after logging off from gmail.
I encounter redirecting url but with the use of squidGuard. I remember it has an option for redirecting url. But i prefer to use dansguardian.
It seems i cant find a way how to do it in dansguardian. That's why i really need your help Sir/Ma'am.
Thank you in advance.tbtsysad

Why don't you just block Gmail as well? I mean, when you have a retarded policy, don't make sloppy shortcuts and go host your own mailserver as well.

If someone is successful at blocking Google they will be successful at blocking alot of malware as Google uses similar techniques.

first, it's the management policy not mine. I wanted to make our own mailserver but the previous sysad already hosted our mail to some webmail. Gmail is like our backup because webmail storage is limited.

Try it.
Due to US Govt policy (announced a few weeks back where they now log everything foreign for 5 years (beauty of our so called democratic system is we have no say in the matter)), so I wanted to block all the US IP addresses, besides I've also seen other dubious hacking activities coming from the US and when I reported it to the UK Police, they did not want to know (NSA & GCHQ part of five eyes), they gave me a crime reference and told me to break the encryption to prove stuff is being taken off my computer. I cant do that impossible task so its safer to just block the United States.
As I've said elsewhere, I have malware here on my systems, dont know how its got on it, AV doesnt pick it up, not the MS Defender which scans all files and sends a signature to MS thats built into all windows, or any other AV system.
Anyway apart from seeing how slow the Internet runs when you block US websites, I then set about blocking Google.com becuase I saw Google was rerouting the blocked traffic through their servers in other countries.
Stuff accessed from Google.co.uk which would have come from Google.com which should have in theory beeing blocked ended up being routed to Google.se in realtime. Block the .se domains and google will come in from another countries domain.
Hence if you can block Google you can block some malware as the realtime techniques used by Google is also employed in malware.
