RRD Graphing - Can we define a custom date range through the GUI?
-
Hi all,
My ISPs are starting to charge for bandwidth usage over certain amounts of data transfer, and I suspect that their tracking systems are somewhat off based on comparable periods of time displayed in my pfSense RRD reports.
I see several graphs with their respective stats under the traffic tab of the RRD Graph section including the previous 30 days, but what I really would like to do is to be able to define a custom 30 day period to be able to see the respective traffic by interface. (ideally so that I can match pfSense's data with my billing date)
I might be wrong on this, but the other available packages (ntop and bandwidthd) don't seem multi WAN aware, while the built in RRD system seems to track both of my WAN interfaces fairly well.
Is this possible? I really like the output on the RRD Graph Traffic tab - it clearly displays both the in and out traffic with a total on a per interface basis. This is exactly the right info, now I just need to be able to specify the date range required and its perfect.
Thanks all,
– Phob

Hi fredde,
Thanks for the tip. No - I hadn't looked at that because it seems like there is already a database within pfSense which tracks this information… the RRD graphs must be getting their data from somewhere.
Your suggestion does allow one to see daily summaries which is cool, but all I really want to do is to define a custom period to view the existing RRD traffic graph output - ie. Feb 21 - March 21... possible?
