      Sorry for this simple question, but the answer eludes me.  I have 5 static public IPs to use.  With pfSense, do I use 1 IP for the WAN interface and the other 4 are used, how?  Are they Virtual IPs?  Is this what pfSense calls multiwan?

        No.  Multi-WAN is two or more connections to the internet.  Yes, you probably want to add Virtual IPs.
