Recommendation for a known working AT&T LTE device?
Anyone have a recommendation for a device which works with AT&T's LTE network? I'd prefer a pure USB device, but USB tethering of a hotspot would be fine, too. I know there's the HCL, but there's a difference between "working" and "works, but took me 5 hours of firmware hacking and custom scripts" which HCLs don't do such a great job of explaining.
I have an interest in this, too. I either need to get something working with pfSense, or I have to use a cradlepoint device for an upcoming CCTV project.
I came here looking for similar info.

One of the last listings is "NDIS miniport" and plugging in this new Verizon mifi into usb it can tether. Windows shows it as a Remote NDIS sharing device.
I'm thinking of just plugging this into my box and seeing if I can add an interface.
Anyone with experience on this ?
I'm needing as a temporary WAN connection for ~60 days. I'd prefer straight through pfSense.
if the USB connection is a must be, you can also try out this device here.
- Easy to change cards
- Easy to connect also to windows based PCs or Laptops for firmware updates
- for Wireless cards & modem cards usage
- comes with internal SIM slot
I am using Sierra MC7700/ATT in DIP mode with good results, Although it is a internal module. It saves the headache of modeswitching the device from mass storage device. You could mount one in a miniPCIe to USB adapter with SIM like above suggestion.
Here is a cheaper bare version:
