Will this work for 1Gb Support?

Looking for a box to support my current 300Mbps service and upcoming Google Fiber. Will this work with 8Gb of RAM?

I know pfSense makes their own hardware but from the reviews I've read, the jury is still out on if it will support 1Gb of throughput.

It will be enough for 1 GBit/s on WAN and Snort on top and yes for sure it will be able to
run with 8 GB and a mSATA.I know pfSense makes their own hardware but from the reviews I've read, the jury is still out on if it will support 1Gb of throughput.
Their hardware will do for sure routing 1 GBit/s on the WAN, but not even with a pppoe account
together but still with a static IP on the WAN port. And this is all pending on what hardware you
are taking from them! The XG-1540 will be pretty able to route the 1 GBit/s for sure also with pppoe
together. -
Thanks for your reply. This will mainly be used to support Firewall, IPS/IDS (snort), and VPN. For VPN, I will maintain a constant site-to-site VPN to a public cloud (but there will be very little traffic flow) and then occasional VPN access for myself when I'm out on public Wifi.
Given that the cost is comparable between building a box using this Jetway configuration vs. the pfSense 2440, I'm guessing building my own would yield a better box? I'm way out of the loop on Intel CPU's these days so I have no idea how Atoms compare against Celerons, Pentiums (they brought that name back?!), and Core processors for this type of application workload.

No problems at all.

Not so easy to answer, because the SG units are all coming beside with AES-NI and Intel QuickAssist and the
Jetway box is not capable of this both features or support them.I'm way out of the loop on Intel CPU's these days so I have no idea how Atoms compare against Celerons, Pentiums (they brought that name back?!), and Core processors for this type of application workload.
Intel Celeron J1900
Intel Celeron G3260T
Intel Atom C2x58 SoCs
Intel Core i3 or Core i5 @3,0GHz+ and AES-NI support
Intel Xeon D-15x0
Intel Xeon E3-12xxv3/v4This would be nearly a comparsion from the lowest bottom to the highest top, for sure others
would be tending to other CPUs or SoCs but this would be my setup to building a more or less
powerful pfSense box, also with a viewing eye to the electric power consumption. But with the Jetway box and 4 GB - 8 GB and a mSATA it would be enough power to run all this
things smooth and liquid. -
Thanks for your help. I went with system I posted above and added a 32GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. I ended up buying it directly from MITXPC vs. Amazon. Looking forward to getting it.
I noticed in your CPU comparison, you didn't specific the Celeron N2930. Where does that fit in the list?
