Strange behaviour!
-
I had an old CAT5 TP-cable from my pfsense router to the LAN-switch which i changed for a UTP CAT6-cable yesterday. Since then the router stops responding and Internet dies sporadicly. I have no idea what has happened but i dont think its the TP-cable. Is there anyone out there who can make out what is wrong? The system log is below. This message comes every 15-30 secs. I have tried to restart the router without any results.

Well it can be the cable.
And from what it looks like it is the cable :)
Try another one to see if the problem persists. -
Hrm. Real strange. I went down to the serverroom and the first port (where the TP-cable from the pfsense box is plugged) just blinked. Off and on. The link was gigabit, but it just went off and on. I tried with the old cable - and it worked!
Sorry for this post, i could have tried this myself before writing a thread. Whats the chance of getting a defective network cable? :-)
