Set DHCP request to UNICAST for Virgin Media
-
Hi
I am trying to change my router into modem mode but without any success. No matter what I do pfsense will not get an ip address. It works fine when the modem is in router mode but nothing in modem mode. If I connect my pc to it instead it does get an address. I am led to believe that this is caused by using broadcast mode rather than unicast.https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/QuickStart-set-up-and/Super-Hub-2-in-Modem-Mode-Possible-failure/td-p/2860582
Is there a way to change the dhcp behaviour on an interface to unicast using the advanced settings?
this is what is recorded in the log

You can't unicast the initial DHCP request, that's not how DHCP works. Your PC certainly isn't doing that. Guessing maybe you need to power cycle the modem after swapping devices so it allows something else to connect.
