Ran the upgrade from 1.2 at home on an old Dell 4300s, everything seems to have carried over. Performance is excellent, the web interface especially is a lot snappier.
I just gotta figure out the new traffic shaper now. -
Excellent news!

Upgraded using from 1.2 with pfSense-Full-Update-1.3-ALPHA-ALPHA-20080707-2103.tgz
Still haven't found any issues so far. I love all the flexibility the new interfaces give you, keep up the great work! :)
Edit: It appears system utilization has been cut in half too! However the Quality RRD graph is broken, and reads 100% packet loss.

Please don't post specific problems to this thread, I split out some posts into their own threads so we can follow up with the person reporting the problems easily without having one big long messy confusing thread.

What do you mean? Get the newest dated version from the folder at the time of your download. If you're doing a new full install, get the iso. If you're upgrading a full install, get the Full-Update file. If you're doing a new embedded install, get the gz file. If you want to upgrade embedded…don't, reflash with the gz file. The embedded upgrade will blow up your install most likely, full upgrades are fine, no problems.

I upgraded my router at home with mostly success. I did have one troubling error though. I use the dhcp's server's reserved addresses extensively. One of them was "TiVo DVD" in the host name - it must have got through 1.2, but in 1.3 it cause dhcpd to fail to start.
Here's the log:
ul 10 00:17:52 dhcpd: Configuration file errors encountered – exiting
Jul 10 00:17:52 dhcpd: Configuration file errors encountered -- exiting
Jul 10 00:17:52 dhcpd: ^

Jul 10 00:17:52 dhcpd: option host-name TiVo DVD;
Jul 10 00:17:52 dhcpd: option host-name TiVo DVD;
Jul 10 00:17:52 dhcpd: /var/dhcpd/etc/dhcpd.conf line 40: semicolon expected.
Jul 10 00:17:52 dhcpd: /var/dhcpd/etc/dhcpd.conf line 40: semicolon expected.For whatever reason, dns didn't work either with that error. Once I changed the host name to tivo-dvd in the dhpc page, everything started working (including DNS).
I also noticed that the nervecenter skin doesn't work real well with Firefox 3.

Fresh install on alix boots ok
Tried to console upgrade 1.2 to 1.3 unsuccessful -
Excluding the issues I mentioned in the other forum topic I would like to say I didn't get any acpi reboots with my hardware. With 1.2 stable I would have to hit F2 so that pfSense would finish booting install disk then after installling add hint.acpi.0.disabled="1".
My hardware is asus p2b-ds, dual 600mhz, 2 3com 10/100 nics and dwl-ag530. I think my old acpi issues were motherboard related. But I didn't care to debug.

Up and running on Intel DQ965GF 3Ghz/512MB RAM/512MB USB Flashdisk and 2 additional Intel 10/100/1000Mbps NIC, The new Web GUI is very fast and works much better than the old one. Had some problems to do the first installation, refused to boot but after some work everything works fine, the auto update wants load v1.2 so it has to be done manual to load the latest snap shots.
