Static pppoe WAN IPs causing "Restarting packages", cannot set static ipv6
-
If the isp allocates a static pppoe ipv4/IPv6 configuration there is no way to signal pfsense that there is no need to restart packages, resulting in unnecessary "rc.start_packages: Restarting/Starting all packages":
"/rc.newwanip: pfSense package system has detected an IP change or dynamic WAN reconnection - 1.2.3.4 -> 1.2.3.4 - Restarting packages."
Also, with ipv4 you can manually modify mpd_wan.conf to request a static ip (https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=47296.msg248927#msg248927). I failed to find a similar solution for IPv6 (for example ISP allocates a static /64 for for the WAN side but you cannot control/choose the IPv6 address from that range, it's automatically generated based on DUID i suppose).
A possible solution would be a check-box in pppoe-wan interface witch, if ticked, could allow the user to input the desired ipv4/ipv6 address.
