IPCameras Blocked When On LAN, OK on WAN
-
Hello,
My cellphone is setup with a cam viewer app that accesses cameras using dynamic dns and a custom port that is forwarded by pfsense to port 80 on the respective camera. Ie, camera1.getmyip.com port 8280 is forwarded to 192.168.1.80 port 80.
The cameras are accessible when I am on LTE. When I am home on Wifi, they do not load.
My old consumer grade router would allow access using this setup.
I gather pfSense is blocking this and was wondering if there is a way to open this functionality up?
Thanks,
Jerold

I finally found this article and I think this is the reason my cameras are not accessible while on the LAN using the WAN URL/Port.

If you want access while on your lan and you want to access via your wan IP then you have to setup nat reflection. But since your on your network already why don't you just access the camera via is actual local IP or its name..

The article helped me to successfully setup NAT reflection.
From a browser, I would use the internal IP, but the phone is an app and stores the configuration. By using the WAN IP/port withNAT reflection, I don't have to setup the camera twice in the app.
Thanks for helping!
