FreePBX and Pfsense
-
I need to have a remote SIP extension for my FreePBX server, but I can't port forward it through my NAT. It worked perfectly on my crappy Linksys router. This does not work, https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Asterisk_VoIP, because it for connecting to a PBX outside of the network. So what do I do? I forwarded ports 5060 and 10000, 20000. If someone has this working please tell me your configuration. I really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Brandon

For SIP call control, we port-forward on TCP/UDP 5060-5061 on the WAN from the external SIP provider. Our SIP media ports are in the range 6000-40000 (UDP) only - also forwarded from the SIP provider to the WAN and on to the internal PBX. This is particular to our PBX, however. I'm not familiar with FreePBX, but you ought to be able to configure the associated ports if need be.

Hey Muswellhillbilly,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried basic port forwarding and that doesn't work. It works perfect on a consumer Linksys router, but not on Pfsense. I know other people have had this problem and they have solved it, but none of their configs have worked for me. So I want to see what other people are doing right now with pfSense 2.2 and what their working configuration is. I am hosting FreePBX behind a pfsense firewall and want to have remote extensions (Outside of the network IP phones).
Thanks again,
Brandon
