slowtflowd does not start

By the look of it softflowd does not start collection automatically

softflowctl statistics
ctl connect("/var/run/softflowd.ctl") error: No such file or directory

@sgmc is softflowd not starting? or does it start, then stop?

softflowd on my netgate router hasn't run properly or exported flows since May 2021. I expect it's due to this issue:
