VLAN on Proxmox VE 7.0.14+1 - No idea why it won't work
-
Good evening everyone,
I'm a bit stumped right now, unfortunately, as my VLAN on my proxmox host doesn't want to work.
To explain:
I have 1 switch (TP Link TL-SG105E) in the office where my PC is located. This is on port 3 of the switch with VLAN 20 (untagged) and the PVID 20.
From here a trunk with VLAN1 untagged and VLAN 20 tagged goes to the 2nd switch at port 1.The 2nd switch (TP-Link TL-SG108E) in the basement also has the trunk with VLAN 1 untagged and VLAN 20 tagged on port 1. Now my Proxmox server is connected to port 7+8 (bond) with PCID 1 and VLAN 20 untagged.
In Proxmox I then created the bond as balance-xor and then created a Linux bridge vmbr0 on bond0 with VLAN-Aware = ON.
After that I created several Linux bridges on the bond, for my VLAN 20 the vmbr4 on bond0.20, VLAN-Aware = OFF.
The vmbr4 is then in use in a VM as net3 and then used in a pfsense as admin network.
pfSense IP: 192.168.20.1, DHCP server is a
PC IP: 192.168.20.90However, I cannot connect to the pfSense now, nor can I ping the server. Only the Proxmox interface via VLAN 1 works.
Unfortunately, I don't see a problem anywhere in my configuration, but have been sitting on it for 3 days in the evening and can't get any further.Maybe someone of you sees a bug in this system.
Greetings,

Why untagged? If you want to terminate the VLAN on pfSense, it need to be tagged on pfSense interface.

Should be on.

@viragomann Hello,
thats it.
I had to enable the switch ports with tagged VLANs and enable the same on the Proxmox bridges. Now my VLANs are working properly and i can start over with the pfSense :-)Thank you
