PFsense 2.2.6 on VMware 3 Wanports

Hi so I hope someone can help me with the issue I recently got back to work in the new year and something odd started happening to one of our pfsense firewalls.
it is currently hosting three Linux servers with Multipal Wan ports configured the odd thing is that the sites randomly stops working after a while the server guys are saying its the pfsense but the nothing changed on the firewall.
I have gone through the logs and cannot find anything wrong what I did notice is that if I go on the any of the three Wan ports and scroll down to save and apply changes it immediately brings up the page on the web again this is true for the other two as well however I am not making any changes a reboot also does the same but takes longer of course.
I hope someone can maybe provide me with some ideas -

Update to current version would be first thing that comes to mind.
Nobody is going to want help troubleshoot anything with version that is 6 years old..
