Hi all,

I am using Google Voice plugin with FreePBX and I noticed that once in a while, Snort will detect a UDP portscan originating from the "voice" servers (for a lack of a better description) GV uses and block them. For now I can suppress these one-offs manually and remove them from the blocked list but I am trying to figure out if I can use an alias instead of an IP address and just update the alias list if this happens in the future… I am also unsure how to properly enter an alias in the rule... right now it looks like this:

#(portscan) UDP PORTSCAN
suppress gen_id 122, sig_id 17, track by_src, ip x.x.x.x

Can I change it to:

#(portscan) UDP PORTSCAN
suppress gen_id 122, sig_id 17, track by_src, alias
