pfsense local hosts monitoring

Hi, I just bought myself a SG-2100 and the learning curve is extremly steep. Luckely there is a lot of help to find on the Internet. Most of the things just works without any hassle too. But I have come across some issues that was hard to solve.
I just installed pfBlockerNG 3 and had a lot of strange problems with for example Ikea Tradfri gateway being unstable. I found the solution here https://forum.netgate.com/topic/120801/how-do-i-block-traffic-to-a-custom-list-of-ip-addresses-ranges-and-domains
But I want to be able to solve these kind of issues myself. I tried to find logs that show traffic flow from this device myself, but I was not able to find where to look in the logs. So my question is how can I monitor a specific IP to solve these kind of issues in the future?
I tried installing ntopng, but did not find what I was looking for there either. I also think that this software is quite taxing on the CPU. Are there any other way to get a overview on what is going on?
