      this is CE2.6.0 with
pfSense-pkg-WireGuard 0.1.6_2 pfSense package WireGuard (EXPERIMENTAL)
wireguard-kmod 0.0.20211105 WireGuard implementation for the FreeBSD kernel
wireguard-tools-lite 1.0.20210914_1 Fast, modern and secure VPN Tunnel (lite flavor)

(background: this pfsense VM only has 1 ethernet interface assigned to WAN, it is meant to be a beachhead to expose some of my home lab dmz services and the home router (openwrt) is supposed to connect to the pfsense using WG. the idea is to forward some ports on pfsense WAN through the WG tunnel to my dmz at home.)

I have been following the site-2-site how-to in the online manual and there is one thing that does not work as described, actually it doesn't work at all!

the problem is assigning the wireguard interface tun_wg0.

For my use case I would need the to be able to forward traffic through the tunnel, i.e. I need a gateway to reach the remote end of the tunnel.

before assigning the interface I have set the default route from auto to WAN_DHCP.

Shortly after assigning the wg interface I loose access to the web UI, and this reproducible.

I don't understand why this happens and what is wrong (shouldn't be as I was following the setup guide in the manual).

Could someone please help me out?
