Intermittent connectivity when accessing allowed hostnames
-
Hello,
I have an interface configured with the Captive Portal and have several entries for allowed hostnames that do not require authentication. The issue is I can intermittently access these hostnames. I am loading external elements embedded in a webpage , such as Google Recapcha and Stripe credit card processing.
The external elements on the page take a long time (more than 30 seconds) to load and sometimes the connection just times out completely.
Everything loads correctly when connected to the non-captive interface.
Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Upon rebooting the PFsense box, the connection works again briefly, and then it is lost within a few minutes.

Same thing for me, these :
34.241.59.225
34.250.29.31
34.250.89.120
won't reply with an echo request ( ping ).But do you care ?
You don't want to ping them.
These IPs should offer other services, as their host name implies.Remember the fact that 8.8.8.8 (example) replies or not to ping doesn't mean that 8.8.8.8 doesn't do what it is intended to do : answering on DNS requests using port TCP and UDP, port 53.

Isn't there some known bug with captive portal - believe there is a patch..
