LAN communication lost with Load balancer
-
I am having an issue with a Dual WAN/Load Balancing setup. When I setup the firewall to to use the gateway group as the gateway, I am no longer able to connect to local host. For example, I can no longer access my Home Assistant's webpage. When I chanege the order of the rule and place the standard any to any rule back on top I am able to gain access my HAss box but do not appear to be using the load balancer gateway. The only difference between the two rules is that the the standard tule has no hard defined gateway why the other load balance does. Yes it is setup in the routing section. Just do not undestand why hard setting the gateway option would kill internal LAN communication.

@tekniqal please elaborate in clear context about the situation that you are facing its not understanding clearly.
FYI:
the setting has same as standard firewall rule only you can change gateway to edit this rule by pointing your load balance group created but not a default gateway. Thanks

@ahsunh Ok I will try. What is happening is that, according to the tutorial I followed, the LAN interface has to have a modified any to any rule (which is standard to allow communication between Bridge members. It works fine, well at least in terms of local host to local host communication, but when I add another rule, modeled on the standard any to any rule, by simply pointing to the gateway group as the gateway (under the standard any to any rule this is left blank forcing the system default to be used), I lose local host to local host communication though the internet works fine. As mentioned before, I did set the gateway to the gateway group under the "System/Routing/Gateways" config section. I was thinking perhaps this enough and there is no need for the modified any to any group under the LAN interface. However, still being a novice, I was simply following the "how to" under the tutorial. This is the tutorial I followed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw2GDJ3-fPU&t=118s&ab_channel=BoredAdmin. Hope this helps.

@tekniqal said in LAN communication lost with Load balancer:
"the modified any to any group under the LAN interface."
CORRECTION: the modified any to any RULE under the LAN interface.
