      Hey guys,
I just built a pfsense firewall for a 6-ETH interfaces box. The settings below:
      LAN6 as OPT4, static ipv4 as 192.168.6.254/24.
a laptop is set as 192.168.6.2/24.
after all parts connects together, laptop cannot reach the gateway.
      what I did for diagnors

      1. integrated PING on the box to 192.168.6.254, OK
      2. ARP table includes 192.168.6.254, no laptop
      3. laptop cannot ping 192.168.6.254
      4. set any, any rules on LAN6, no change

      any idea I will appreciate

Double-check the network mask and IP on both devices.

Ensure that the laptop is connected to the correct NIC. On some devices the NIC order inside pfSense is different from the labeling on the case.

If no joy replace the cable.

@viragomann Thank you for your reply. Actually that's the first thing I have done for checking. I pull it out and plug it in, status displays currently on dashboard.

Setup a DHCP Server on that interface and try if you get an IP... Services > DHCP Server

@silikmel please let see your rules on this opt interface, and your floating tab is empty of rules - if not lets see those.

By default when you go to create a rule its tcp, so even if you created any source any destination it would only be tcp, and ping wouldn't be allowed.

Yeah true. Be sure that you use "Protocol > Any" (for testing)
