@mleighton I was about to post a new topic about this. Why are Netgate getting rid of all models with Marvell switches? Im really missing this feature on the 6100s and the 7100 going end of sale means they wont have it either.
Also, does anyone know if there is a replacement yet for the 7100?

The hardware platform we have been moving towards provides more processing power and more throughput, without giving those up for assigning resources on the system to a switch.
The rest of this comment is my personal opinion, as the owner of not one but two 7100s that the built-in switch is a minor convenience that can be more efficiently handled by a $50 VLAN-capable smart switch.
When the times comes that the 1100 and 2100 are put to EOS I highly suspect (but have no insight into this) that they will be replaced by systems with similar design and basic switching. However I would suspect that any replacement to the 1100 (again, my personal opinion and not from knowledge gained by my employment) would be dual-NIC like the 2100 moving forward. WAN on one, LAN/OPT switched on a second.
I will reiterate those are my personal opinions and thoughts on the matter
