I have watched several instruction videos on how to configure pfsense with wireguard package to connect as client to TorVPN/Mullvad ... but with Astrill it seems to be different.

My config: bare metal + pfsense CE 2.6.0 + pfSense-pkg-WireGuard 0.1.6_2 and related dependencies

Had Astrill generate the .conf file

In the initial tunnel setup copied the private key from .conf but the Public key calculated by pfsense doesn't match the Public key from Astril. ignoring this at first.

setting up peer use the endpoint from .conf and port from .conf and the public key from .conf allowed all IPv4 0.0.0.0/0

Check the status of the tunnel but no handshaking starting while the green up arrow shows.

      What am i missing?

I know more configuration is needed later but if this already doesn't work, i first need to get the handshaking going on.

@wim-heijmans You won't get a handshake until the entire config is done.

According Christian McDonald from NetGate in his video "pfSense WireGuard Guide Series 001 - Mullvad Failover" it should start handshaking at this point
