OpenVPN will not reconnect after router restart
-
I have pfSense running on a Protectli Vault and an OpenVPN client configured on it. I have had no issues with this connection in the past.
This morning, I used the power button on the Vault to shutdown the router in order to rearrange some of the networking equipment. On restart, the OpenVPN daemon is not connecting to ProtonVPN. It has been stuck at "reconnecting; ping-restart" for the last several hours.
I can connect to the ProtonVPN server using a device-based client and the OpenVPN protocol with no issue. I have tried to add another OpenVPN client in pfSense connected to a different server based on ProtonVPN's instructions, but that client is having the same issue.
I have no issues with connectivity if I connect a device directly to the ISP's equipment. Nothing about the configuration has changed, I just restarted the Protectli Vault.
I'm not sure what else I need to be troubleshooting. I have double-checked the configuration based on ProtonVPN's instructions and everything seems fine. Any ideas?

Maybe OpenVPN log can shed some light. -
Evidently, ProtonVPN is shuffling IP addresses and lagging behind on updating their documentation. I used a server with a different IP address in that same state and the system immediately connected with no issues. Odd that the connection worked right up until I restarted it - maybe they were supporting extant connections on that address but not accepting new ones...?
Appears to be working fine now.
