    Update doesn't take.

    Scheduled Pinned Locked Moved Plus 23.01 Development Snapshots (Retired)

      Currently on 23.01.b.20221221.1946.
      Tried to update to the latest 23.01.b.20221228.0300.
      It finds the update, goes through the process and after the reboot, still the older version.
      Tried from the console and got this:

          @stephenw10 these are the same type of issues o reported back in mid November in my "updating to 23.01 DEVEL corrupts my pfsense installation" thread. Bummer to see the issue has reemerged again.

              Yup, same symptoms but I think the cause is different. We are actively working on that now.

                Still getting same error when I try to update.
                Even just a pkg update gives the error.

                  Hmm, might need to manually upgrade pfSense-upgrade. I expect that to be working now.

                  Try: pfSense-upgrade -dc

                  Or: pkg-static upgrade pfSense-upgrade

                    That's what I did originally, just pointing out that even pkg update fails.

                    So to clarify, your suggested way still doesn't work either.

                    I take that back, just tried again and this time it found a release from this morning. Went through ok this time.

                      Still seems to be an issue
                      Everytime I try to update I see the daily snapshots int the log

                      But when I log back in it still shows me stuck on the older beta.

                        In addition to my post above, seems something happens when the boot environment is setup. all the updates I have been doing show the same version.

                          Those show the same base version (as the name) but different snapshot dates.

                          Try upgrading at the CLI using pfSense-upgrade -d and see if any errors are shown.

                              If I do a pfSense-upgrade -d, it goes through the process but is still on yesterdays release after reboot.

                                You can see it's trying to authenticate the old unauthenticated repo server and, unsurprisingly, failing.

                                A fix for this just went in. New snaps are building now.

                                  Confirmed both the gui and command line updates are now loading the latest snapshot.
