Blocking custom urls(different website sections).....not domains
-
Hello,
I have pfsense 2.6.0, with pfblockerng-devel 3.1.0_11, I have my pfsense redirecting DNS to itself, and have the DNS resolver and forwarder turned on. I need to block URL's but no the root/base, so for example "planetf1.com" must be accessible but "planetf1.com/news" must not be accessible. I can add planetf1.com to the custom DNSLB IP List under an existing DNSLB group, and that works, but I get an error when I add the /news onto the URL."The following input errors were detected:
Customlist: Invalid Domain name entry: [ planetf1.com/news ]"I've tried using the custom blacklist in TLD but receive the same error when trying to save it.
My pfblockerNG settings are:
How can I just block parts/sections of a website/URL and not the home page?
Thanks in advance -
@fusionp pfblocker is dns - dns does not understand /news - it understands the fqdn of the url.. To filter on /news or /other etc.. you would need to use a proxy that understands the full url

@johnpoz Thank you for the quick response, understood, OK, can squid transparent proxy and pfblocker coexist? Would you advise using squid guard or just regular squid? I've never installed the packages before but will try get them to co-exist.
