vpn and network setup

need help with a proper configuration of network,
so most of my network traffic will come from my home to my office vpn,
my home network is a 192.168.1.1 network,
the problem lies here within,
the office network is also 192.18.1.1
when I connect to vpn I have the the open vpn hand out IP address of 172.0.0.1
now when I connect I can see open vpn connect successfully...bt I can not access anythign on the lan side of the office...
im thinking its becuase of the 192.168.1.1 network being on the office and also my home... so when im trying to find a resource on the office lan I believe that the network is seeing the 192.168.1.1 traffic and automatically passing it to the local home network the not finding the resource in need but I know its there...
should I change the office network to something different and have them all on different networks ?? example
home 192.168.1.1
office 172.0.0.1
vpn traffic 10.0.0.1would that setup eliminate the issues I am having ?
any help would be great

Yes. Or even your home.
The router doesn't route a packet to the remote site if the destination IP lies within the local subnet.

@viragomann ok so I tried to connect to my vpn from a hot spot
and I was successful.and even then I still can not connect to any resources on the local network,
under my config file for open vpn under ipv4 network I have this un the field
192.168.1.1/24 for my network my local network is 192.168.1.1 for the router, is that what I should have in that field or should I have another network with subnet
I think that setting is what is keeping me from any resourcesthank you once again

192.168.1.0/24 is.
