pfBlockerNG-devel - 3.2.0_3
-
Hi,
Hoping to get some help with a new install of PFBlocker on PFSense.
I set it up in a VM and it seemed to work with no issues.
Now I have a Netgate unit but it just won't save the MaxMind License Key, I paste the key into the IP section and click "Save IP settings" and if I click away from the screen it just dissapears, and when I try the cli update it fails wanting a license key.
I have done the Save IP Settings then ran the Update, Reload and Cron options all separately but still experience the same.
Is there another step I am missing?
Many thanks for your assistance.
UPDATE:
I have tried it again after leaving it for an hour, it now says "MaxMind License key Invalid"
Sorry if I am missing something obvious but I can't see what I am missing to cause this.
I have clicked on the copy button straight after creating the key and pasted it in and done it via notepad to ensure anything strange is removed, but still the same.

@freddy-0 It seems the MaxMind key type has changed. Either apply the fix mentioned by BBCan177 or wait for an update to pfBlocker.
Fix - MaxMind New Key Type

Many thanks.
I have tried 2 of the changes mentioned but still the same so assume it is a work in progress and perhaps not yet resolved so will need to wait for the update, others from the comments seemed to have experienced similar.
I hear BBcan177 does an amazing job so fingers crossed magic can be worked soon.

There are 3 changes that have to be done: 2 in "/usr/local/www/pfblockerng/pfblockerng_ip.php"
line 119 and line 182
and 1 in "/usr/local/pkg/pfblockerng/pfblockerng.inc"
line 727
always replace "PFB_FILTER_ALNUM" with "PFB_FILTER_WORD" (without quota)

Many thanks apologies in my haste I must have missed that one.
After editing the 3rd missed line it looks to be now be working, the database is updating.
For anyone else who reads this, there services don't need to be restarted should just work.
Also,
This file:
/usr/local/pkg/pfblockerng/pfblockerng.incI found it in line 729 and not 727 is that expected and normal?
Thanks again for your help!

I didn't know you could edit the files from the GUI, learned another new thing today :)
Still seems to be at line 729 but not too concerned as everything seems to be working.
Thanks again for everyones quick assistance.

You are probably running pfblocker in pfsense+ 23.01 - I saw in my lab machine (with 23.01) that there the line in question is at 728 ;-)
