I am trying to create 2 pfsense firewalls in a VM cyber range. I was able to ping each of the 2 pfsense firewalls from each other but not pfsense 2, which is the inner firewall from another windows VM on the subnet.

I followed this link. It was clear but just the pfsense 2 is where I can't access. I also can't understand how you can change the WAN interface of pfsense to a LAN? https://coygeek.com/docs/pfsense-dual/

      Appreciate advice

@pfsenselearner-0 Looks like they’re just using double NAT. Not real sure what that gets, maybe a DMZ? But that can be done with one pfSense and three interfaces. Unless one blocks it by firewall rule the inner LAN would by default have access to the “middle” LAN.

Re: change WAN to LAN, not sure I follow but WAN is generally “towards the Internet.” One can name interfaces however one wants.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
