      Hi all,
after upgraded my OpenVPN GUI to 2.6.3 i can't connecdt to my Pfsense installation.
searching websites on the subject I found that this new client is not compatible with the version currently present as a package. In particular, it seems that the problem is related to the OpenSSL 3.1.0 package.
To get it working again I had to downgrade the installed client to version 2.5.x.
Is the update of the above mentioned package foreseen? Has anyone had the same problems?

      Thank you

        @roberto-bianchi

        This one ?

You can't upgrade the 'openvpn' package used by pfSense like you can do when you use FreeBSD, or some Linus distro.

Installing OpenVPN 2.6.3 from here will break thing.
pfSense is based on FreeBSD, but is not FreeBSD.

        These (pfSense 23.01 ) :

[23.01-RELEASE][root@pfSense.not.far]/root: pkg info | grep 'openvpn'
        openvpn-2.6.0_13 Secure IP/Ethernet tunnel daemon
openvpn-auth-script-1.0.0.3 Generic script-based deferred auth plugin for OpenVPN
        openvpn-client-export-2.5.8 OpenVPN Client Export
        pfSense-pkg-openvpn-client-export-1.8 pfSense package openvpn-client-export
        pfSense-pkg-openvpn-client-import-1.2_1 pfSense package openvpn-client-import

are maintained by Netgate and made for pfSense.

If you managed to 'update' openvpn-2.6.0_13 (or whatever you had before) to 'openvpn-2.6.3' you just broke pfSense.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

@roberto-bianchi Yes, is not compatible right now.
We need to stick with 2.5.x line until someone fix this issue.
I have the same situation and I'm testing pfsense 2.7-dev and some case.
Hope to soon see the solution here, regards!!!
