      We are excited to announce our newest secure networking appliance, the Netgate 8200 with pfSense Plus software – the fastest Intel Atom-based firewall we offer, in a whisper-quiet rack mount configuration. We expect it will be a popular edge gateway solution for remote offices, edge deployments, managed service providers, and enterprise networks.

        @mleighton Hello,

        I have a question: what is the brand/model of the SFP nic inside the 8200 ?(I'm assuming there is a single nic behind the two ports?) Is it possible to have the reference?

        From the description ethernet ports are using an intel i226 controller, but there is no information on the SFP ports.

            Wow that's an impressive device. Rivals the Netgate XG-1541 with a lot less power requirement.

                @192-168-1-1 Ok........I think the entry point for a Palo Alto 4400 is pretty high.........

                  Compared to what hardware you mean?

                  Supermicro A2SDV-8C-LN10PF ~760 €
                  Supermicro case & PSU ~200 €
                  16 GB RAM ~117 €
                  M.2 SSD ~90 €
                  WiFi card ~35 €

                  all in all around ~1200 € and this is not far away from the
                  Netgate hardware!

                    @dobby_ none. Just responding to the previous poster that the 8200 "entry" price is high.
                    Its just very subjective so i added a nonsensical point that a PA is expensive.
