macOS Server Open Directory (LDAP) Authentication

Hi,

Could someone who is authenticating successfully against macOS Open Directory kindly post settings that have been successful.

Each previous time I have bound a 3rd party server to OD there has been much trial, error and many dead-ends involved. It would be nice to have a template to follow.
