    504 Gateway Time-out

      I am in the process of configuring two new Netgate 4100s and they are not connected to the internet. I notice that often two things occur:

      1. I get frequent 504 Gateway Time-out when trying to configure anything on the primary firewall.
      2. Slowness. Moving trough the Gui is very slow.

      My question is - is the firewall trying to talk to netgate for updates and since there there isn't a internet connection it is timing out or is the firewall "defective"? I did check Disable the Dashboard auto-update check on the primary firewall - but that didn't fix it. Has anyone experienced this before and found a solution?

        I will answer it myself - as long as the interfaces are attached to something....a switch , etc...it doe not time out. Thanks Netgate....maybe you guys will fix that in new versions?
