      Hello fellow Netgate community members,

I am attempting to use OpenVPN, I ran the wizard created the certificates created the firewall ACLS, added the username however when I download and install the client file into my iPhone I get this error..

      Connect to VPN.jpeg

Does anyone know what I should look at? I do not even see an attempted connection in the logs or anything.

I have Snort, and Squid in use.

I have not set up dynamic dns as my IP address does not change. Should I set up dynamic DNS this is for home use only.

In the past you could use your WAN ip address up until it changed. Mine is pretty steady.

      What should I do?

It functions on Windows 11 over the iPhone, the iPhone has an ipv6 address and issues the Windows 11 device ipv4 IP address schema.

Why won't this work for iPhone ? It works find with Windows 11

I am attempting to access my NAS over the VPN I am tired of multiple copies of code for projects, One on the laptop one on the imac at home one on the server one on the phone each has bugs I worked out on others. This would simplify it, access the NAS one copy

The fix is to edit the configuration profile file and change

this line in the file open it with text editor its before the SSL key

            remote f.q.d.n 1194 udp4

            to
            remote f.q.d.n 1194 udp

I am opening a redmine for this as the iPhone uses ipv6 and it does not know what udp4 is anymore

That is the only change that was needed

VPN to NAS now works with iPhone.

See photo below iPhone accessing private cloud and placing photos on a NAS drive.

Thanks this fixed worked for me. My iPhone would not connect without it.
