I am trying to set up a captive portal without authentication. I set up the pfsense only for the captive portal.
I connected an AP in the pfsense to can get WIFI but when I connected to this network I only can see the network has not connection or Internet.

If it put the IP i can the see the login page but only in that way. This issue occurs with PC and Mobiles.

Here i attached the screenshots of the set up it is basic but is not working.

    Can someone help me please!

      login-to-view

      Don't - not needed.

Up front : make live easy for yourself.
The starter setup should be :
A LAN, for your trusted devices, like the PC you use to admin pfSense, see and check logs and other stuff.
A OPT1 (or whatever you named it) : a second LAN for non trusted devices, as a portal is used for these kind of devices.

Because you didn't gibe any info, I can only default to "make it work".

So start by mentioning the pfSense version.
Tell us about the LAN network setup.
Also : you've added a "AP", so elimate cumulative probles and remove it. Use a cabled device. Examp;e : if you were using an AP thisis also a router, well, you will have an issue. The AP should be AP, and should noy have any 'DNS' or 'Firewall' or 'NAT' or DHCP running on it. The AP should behave as an AP: just a transparent "radio (wifi) to cable converter".

On the device you connected, using cable or AP, did it get, using DHCP, a network, gateway, dns and IP ?

If your device is a windows PC, type

      ipconfig /all

and you'll se if DHCP works == the pfSense DHCP server
The device lease should be visible under Status > DHCP Leases

See also here : Status > System Logs > System > GUI Service
You should see lines like :

      login-to-view

where 192.168.2.0/24 is my captive portal (OPT1) network.
192.168.2.20 is the IP of my Phone device.

My log lines show the device's captive portal probing.

      You've seen : Troubleshooting Captive Portal ?

Edit : and where are the logs ??

        @Gertjan

        Thanks for the help!

        The version is 2.7.1
The AP is configured as bridge mode so it does not even have DHCP ,NAT configured.
I connect my PC with WIFI.
I type ipconfig /all and I can see the pfSense DCHP works.

        login-to-view

I will try to create another interface OPT1 and try it!

Am I missing any other configuration?
Also i don't know if this version has some issues

@dcorrales said in Captive portal is not working:

Also i don't know if this version has some issues

Ask yourself : do you really want to know if old software had issue, knowing that new, more up to date software is available ?
Me, for sure, I'm not remembering what old and now resolved issues were.

          login-to-view

something very important info isn't shown : the DNS.
If it is "192.168.1.1", then that ok.

Does pfSDEnse confirms the lease :

          login-to-view

What showed up under the logs ?

          login-to-view

Btw : the portal is totally not compatible with IPv6 - it should be shut down on the interface which hosts the portal.

            @Gertjan
I think that I have issues with the DNS because when I connect to the WIFi and I type ipconfig/all the DNS is the IP that I have in my proxy server.

I am going to explain you better.
I have a proxy server with to ISP. So to have Ethernet in the pfSense server I put from proxy switch to WAN pfSense. But in this case i don't set up any DNS in the pfSense
So I have that question I will need to setup something else in the DNS pfSense server ?
Also I set up in my PC DNS auto
            Here i attached some pictures.

There is the lease I can see my PC but I only can access to the captive portal if i put the IP.
