      Hello fellow Netgate community,

      Can you please help?

      Is there a database users can use to download a smaller set of signatures for ClamAV over the default ?

      Or Is there any options I can place into the custom area to add some memory restrictions?

      TAC support originally said to disable it years ago because it uses a lot of memory for a 2100, I just thought maybe clamAV has a smaller ruleset for less memory use.

      -----> UPDATE Jan 8 2024 11:50pm

      I got a great email from ClamAV email support system

      "Thanks for reaching out. We recommend you use all of the Clam AV signatures as such we don't have a smaller version to provide.
      I spoke with some of the team and the two suggestions recommended that may help you are:

      In freshclam.conf, you can set "TestDatabases no" to prevent freshclam from load-testing the updated databases.
      In clamd.conf, you can set "ConcurrentDatabaseReload no" to force clamd to unload the old databases before loading a new one, so it doesn't have both in memory at the same time."
      (Brendan clamav-users support).

      The changes can be made right in advanced. This is for users with low RAM.

      Also I disabled scanning streaming video and that got me where I could run everything without restarts.
