      Netgate C2758
      Model 505-2

      1. Clean install of factory image of 2.3.3 (pfsense-netgate-memstick-serial-2.3.3-RELEASE-amd64.img.gz)
      2. From 'Package Manager', removed all factory packages (No other packages are on the system)
      3. Upgraded via web interface to 2.3.3_1 -> Reboot
      4. From 'Update' -> 'Update Settings' set to HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL
      5. Upgrade via web interface to 2.4.0.b.20170427.1224 -> Reboot
      6. Upgrade fails, can no longer run upgrades or run pkg commands from console

Have tried this from WebGUI and Console (Option 13).

Saw topic https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=129310.0 but user was able to fix via fresh install.

Console output from upgrade is below:

Running the following on the broken firewall allows the upgrade to 2.4 to complete:

          pkg-static upgrade –f

I'm now able to run 'pkg' again.

          Is this a new/known bug?

I've seen people mention issues mentioned before on forum/irc.. But cant find any mention of "Shared object "libssl.so.8" not found, required by "pkg"" on redmine.. I haven't tried to update from 2.3 to 2.4 myself yet. Can you create a bugreport there?
