Newbie questions on IP vs URL address

Looking at implementing WireGuard but we have a Dynamic DNS and are using the PFsense Dynamic DNS option. In the PFsense Wireguard implementation can I use a URL instead of a IP address? The documentation seems to indicate that it can only use an IP address even if Wireguard itself permits URL.
