DNS Over OpenVPN
-
I've been reading so long that my eyes hurt and still don't feel like I'm any closer to getting DNS over OpenVPN to work. I can connect to the VPN and I can ping devices on the other side of the VPN, but I can't for the life of me get DNS to work.
For example, there is a Synology on the other side of the VPN. I can ping 172.18.0.3, but can't ping it by DNS name of diskstationhbe.
IPv4 Tunnel Network: 172.17.0.0/24
IPv4 Local Network: 172.18.0.0/24
DNS Server Enable: Checked
DNS Server 1: 172.18.0.1When connected I'm getting the following:
IPv4 Address: 172.17.0.2
DNS Server: 172.18.0.1I tried adding a DNS Access list for OpenVPN, but that didn't seem to work.
Action: Allow
Networks: 172.17.0.0/24Please bear with me on this because I'm not the best when it comes to DNS.

This is only a host name. Consider to use FQDNs to access the remote site.
