Groups.IO access/no access
-
Hi Folks,
I'm a neophyte when it comes to tracking down a problem. I have not figured out why sometimes getting to groups.io has not problem, other times it will not load. I know the site is working (cell phone off of the LAN).
Hmmm… can't reach this page
groups.io refused to connect.
Packages installed:
pfB_PRI1_v4, DNSBL_EasyList, DNSBL_ADs, DNSBL_Malicious, DNSBL_Malicious2, DNSBL_ADs_BasicWhat causes the change?
I'm also interested in other or better packages (used at home) -
@wc2l If you use nslookup does it resolve correctly?
Those aren’t pfSense packages, those are pfBlocker feeds or DNS block lists. If you disable all that does it work? If so you’re blocking it.

@SteveITS Sorry, meant to say pfBlockerNG.
Yes, nslookup works.
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: groups.io
Addresses: 45.79.81.153
173.255.221.194It looks like one of the DNSBL is blocking it. I will see if I can figure it out. Stop the pfBlockerNG and I can get to group.io
Start the pfBlockerNG and I can get to group.io but the DNSBL says it is out of sync and I need to reload it.
When I reload DNSBL, I can't get to group.ioI have not changed anything. This has only been going on for a short period of time. Just wondering what has changed.

@SteveITS A little snooping (thanks for tip), I may have found the culprit. Now to see if I can fix it. The logs told me what was happening.
CINS_army_v4,lb02.groups.io,Unknown,null,+
CINS_army_v4,lb02.groups.io,Unknown,null,-I unchecked/shut off the CINS_army feed and did a reload. That appears to have solved the issue. I'm just concerned why it was blocked recently. I don't stay up on some of this stuff, but even my work environment didn't block groups.io (and they block a lot).
