Awesome..
After doing about three dozen updates today across our system (microwave radios) I believe the only thing I would love to see on this platform is the ability to stage the newer software locally on the device to be updated.. But spit in one hand.. you know..
Thanks guys!

Upgraded from 24.11-BETA to 24.11-RC on my DEC740 and it worked well.
The cpu load when logged into the GUI and staying on the Dashboard when down quite a bit. Load average with not much going on on the network was around 1.1 to 1.3 with BETA and now on 0.6 to 0.8 and around 0.2/0.3 when moving away from the Dashboard to e.g. DHCP Leases.
Widgets in use: System Information, Disk, ZFS, Netgate Service And Support, Service Status, Gateways, Dynamic DNS Status, RSS, Firewall Logs (WAN, 5 last entries, refresh 15s), Wireguard, Interfaces, pfBlockerNG (but service disabled right now), Installed Packages.

Will update a Sophos XG135 R3 later today from 23.04 and provide feedback, I have a XG230 R2 unit too, but sadly only on CE atm.

Upgraded from 24.11-BETA to 24.11-RC
Unbound service did not start on the first boot (wireguard peers down):
servicewatchdog_cron.php: The command '/usr/local/sbin/unbound -c /var/unbound/unbound.conf' returned exit code '1', the output was '[1731592260] unbound[47845:0] debug: module config: "python validator iterator" [1731592260] unbound[47845:0] error: Error for server-cert-file: /var/unbound/unbound_server.pem [1731592260] unbound[47845:0] error: Error in SSL_CTX use_certificate_chain_file crypto error:80000002:system library::No such file or directory [1731592260] unbound[47845:0] error: and additionally crypto error:10080002:BIO routines::system lib [1731592260] unbound[47845:0] error: and additionally crypto error:0A080002:SSL routines::system lib [1731592260] unbound[47845:0] fatal error: could not set up remote-control'
After capturing this log I manually rebooted and unbound started OK.
FYI -
@dk4dk4 Using the service watchdog for unbound is a bad idea, though not as bad now with recent improvements. Still if you must use it, it's best to disable it for upgrades.
Are you using a RAM disk?

@applesalwaysred Make a post with the full output here:
https://forum.netgate.com/category/97/plus-24-11-rc-snapshots -
@marcosm How to pull 'full output'?
-
@applesalwaysred I mean the full output of the System Activity page when/where you saw the issue. Alternatively you may try running
ps auxwwd
while the issue occurs. -
Only 9 more days, before they’ll have to call it pfSense Plus 24.12! How soon can we expect it?
-
@DominikHoffmann The oven is running and a release build is baking. Soon.
