    If there is only one interface at installation time, the base gateway alias is incorrect.

      I would like to use pfSense with only one interface, but after installation, I cannot access the web configuration.

      A temporary solution is to specify the default gateway on the console.

      Then, if we look at the default gateway in the web configuration, we can see that it is set to LANGW (only WANGW and WAN int are available).

      During installation, the system asks whether WANGW should be the default, which is fine.

        I found this for pfsense 2.4.x - should still be valid as I do not think vlans have changed much in the past 2 years or so :-)
